Stone apple (wood apple/bel) slices steam-cooked and preserved in sugar syrup.
Maghz Bel (stone apple / wood apple) 1 kg; Qand Safed (sugar) 2 kg; Aab (water) quantity sufficient
Peel unripe stone apple, cut into slices, remove seeds and steam-cook until soft, then dry. Boil sugar and water on medium flame till a thick syrup (Qiwam) forms, add the steamed slices and cook till the desired consistency. Preserve in a glass jar after cooling. Serving: 20 g in the morning or as required.
Improves tonicity of the stomach and thus digestion; highly recommended for frequent indigestion, dysentery and diarrhea. Note: Diabetic patients should avoid due to sugar content.
